2018-2019 School Year

On Wednesday, 1/24, the Chicago Board of Education approved the calendar for the 2018-2019 School Year, which will go a long way toward supporting our students, and you - the dedicated team who work so hard to help them succeed.

This calendar contains a wealth of information. You’ll see that our student attendance days – 178 – are evenly distributed across four academic quarters, and that we’ve allocated two days for parent-teacher conferences.

Here are some of the important dates for the next school year:

First Day of School - 9/4/18, Last Day of School - 6/18/19
Academic Quarters - Q1 - 11/1/18, Q2 - 1/31/19, Q3 - 4/4/19, Q4 - 6/18/19
Parent Teacher Conference Days - 11/14/18 (ES), 11/15/18 (HS), 4/10/19 (ES), 4/11/19 (HS)
Winter Vacation - 12/24/18 - 1/4/19,
Spring Vacation - 4/15/18 - 4/19/18
School Improvement Days - 11/2/18, 2/1/19, 4/5/19, 6/19/19
Please note: Veterans Day will be observed on Monday, 11/12/18.

REILLY FAMILIES ARE INVITED: “MLK Tribute: Ask Your Mama" Monday, January 15– Symphony Center

As a participant in the Sinfonietta’s education program, Reilly students and their families receive complimentary tickets to the Chicago Sinfonietta concerts. The next concert, “MLK Tribute: Ask Your Mama" will be on Monday, January 15– Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature orchestra, opera, jazz vocals, spoken work audio samples and video. For more information please visit:

The Meemic Foundation Awards Ms. Rivera with $100 Grant for Books!

The Meemic Foundation offers grants for a variety of school and classroom projects. Today, a representative from the Meemic Foundation, Kevin Smith, came to Reilly to award Ms. Rivera with a grant for $100 to be used for books for her classroom!
